On Wednesday morning (March 14), students across the nation staged a walkout to protest gun violence in America. The demonstration marks the one month anniversary of the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High school in Parkland, Florida. Schools from elementary to college participated in the protest, walking out of class at 10am local time for 17 minutes to signify each life lost in the tragic shooting. Over 3,000 protests ended up taking place worldwide.

Celebrities showed their support by tweeting to the brave youth using their voices to make a difference in the world. "On the one-month anniversary of the Parkland school shooting, students are walking out in protest of Congress’ failure to act on gun violence," Katy Perry tweeted. "Let’s support them, and the March to Washington DC in ten days."

"The young people of this generation give me so much hope," Chris Evans posted. "Are u listening @GOP? Time for gun laws to change. And for you 2A-ers, relax, no one is saying you cant own a gun, your right to ‘bear arms shall not be infringed’. Just looking for common sense reform!"
