Justin Bieber Blames Jail Behavior on Ankle Injury, May Take Plea in Egg Case
There are multiple updates on two Justin Bieber legal cases. Strap yourselves in, Beliebers, there is a lot going on with your hero, who claims he wasn't drunk when arrested in Miami and his wobbly behavior was the result of an ankle injury. He may also take a plea in Egg Gate.
The Biebs looked like he may have been a little buzzed or tipsy when arrested in January. He couldn't walk the line when asked because he says he sustained an ankle injury while skateboarding. He did install a ramp in the backyard of the house he just sold to Khloe Kardashian and which was the scene of Egg Gate. More on that in a moment.
The Biebs was charged with driving under the influence even though he blew .014 on the breathalyzer, which is akin to NOTHING. The cops still said he smelled like booze.
His unsteady gait on the night of the arrest is their proof that he was drinking. But he claimed a hairline fracture in his right foot, sustained three months prior, was the reason for his wobble, not because he was boozed up.
The docs, obtained by TMZ, claim that he was rude to cops, too. He reportedly told the cop who cuffed him that "I'm 19 years old. I'm just out having a good time." The police officer responded that he didn't drive a Lamborghini when he was a teen, to which The Biebs retorted, "Yeah, well, I bet you didn't have millions of dollars in your bank account either."
Ouch. That was snotty and unnecessary. The Biebs allegedly also claimed to have been driving fast cars since he was 15.
Now, about Egg Gate. The singer will probably be charged with a crime but it won't go to trial. TMZ reports that Biebs' lawyer Howard Weitzman has been contacted by the D.A. to discuss restitution for the damage. The neighbor claims that the singer caused around $20,000 in damage with his egg tossing stunt.
The prosecutor will likely want The Biebs to pay for the damage and to plead no contest to misdemeanor vandalism. He would avoid jail time but would be under informal probation. It would be an open and shut situation.
The L.A. County Sheriff's Dept. pushed for a felony charge, but the D.A. disagreed and believed Bieber's ova antis were merely a misdemeanor.
If the plea is reached, this should be wrapped within a week.
