Jackson At The Top of Energy Efficient Cities

Jackson was just named by Energy Star, which is a company that recognizes energy efficiency, as the #2 most energy efficient small city. Jackson lost out to Midland, Texas but it shows that Jackson is trying and succeeding in correctly using and saving energy.

Some of the other reasons that Jackson was named so high up by Energy Star was first that Jackson has 37 Energy-Star certified energy efficient buildings. Also Jackson is working with Consumers Energy in reducing their energy and looking towards the future on their energy efficiency. Finally, along with the City of Jackson being honored, Consumers Energy was honored as well in working on reducing energy waste.
