A historic bridge in Ionia County will be rebuilt after it was destroyed a few years ago by arsonists. According to the Whites Bridge Historical Society, they said they have secured funding for the project and that the Michigan department of transportation will start accepting bids next month. The bridge was originally constructed in 1869, the Brown truss covered bridge spanned the Flat River in Keene Township.

On July 7th 2013, The bridge was destroyed by arsonists and police have not been able to find whoever set the fire. The reconstruction is expected to be finished by next summer, 2019. More from MLive here.
