Memorial Day weekend is coming up and that is the official kickoff for summer so if you are planning on trip just know you will be seeing a little increase at the pumps. According to the Gasbuddy app, the average gas price in Lansing has risen 11.6 cents per gallon in the last week bringing our average to $2.89. The prices this past weekend were 48.9 cents per gallon higher than the same day one year ago. The reason for the increase at the pump, besides it being warmer, is because our gas inventory has gone down and demand nationwide has hiked up prices. More on the increase at the pump here.

According to the gasbuddy app (on the morning of 5/15) here are some cheap gas stations across the Lansing-Area; Costco has the cheapest at $2.64, then Sam's Club at $2.69, and Kroger on Marsh Road is at $2.78, Marathon gas in Lansing has two stations at $2.80, and Speedway is averaging about $2.87 a gallon.
