Jerel Worthy, who starred as a dominant defensive tackle at Michigan State, has been traded from the team that drafted him.

The Green Bay Packers have agreed to send Worthy to the New England Patriots, Worthy's agent announced via Twitter Tuesday night. The deal is dependent upon Worthy's passing a physical, which is no given as the former Spartan has struggled through injuries lately.

Worthly tore his ACL at the end of his rookie season in 2012. He then spent much of the 2013 season on the sideline, playing in only four games (including postseason).

Worthy missed the whole 2014 offseason due to a back injury that has continued to keep him out of training camp, ESPN.com reports.

Green Bay traded up in the 2012 draft to pick Worthy 51st overall in the second round.
