The city of East Lansing has started a pilot program to allow food trucks and cars to test out the market in the downtown area.

The program will allow the trucks and carts to set up shop downtown between March and May at a rate of $100 for two weeks. The city will offer the springtime trial period for the next three years.  It was approved during Tuesday night’s council meeting.

The mayor of East Lansing is looking to bring a more diverse selection of foods to downtown. Up to nine food carts and nine food trucks will be allowed to participate. It will be cool to see where the carts and trucks are parked but I'm sure East Lansing is going to be somewhere you want to stop by for lunch whether you're a student or not.

But to see more about what the program the Lansing State Journal has more.
