Ele’s Race is an annual 5K Run/Walk that directly benefits Ele’s Place, a healing center for grieving children. It’s a fun-filled family event that helps to raise funds, as well as awareness, for Ele’s Place.

Children 3 and under are free.

$25 per person before May 16, 2018.

$30 per person May 16 - July 13, 2018.

$35 per person July 14 - July 28, 2018

Course Information

Ele's Race is a 5K run/walk on a 3.1 mile course on the beautiful grounds of Jackson National Life Insurance company headquarters in Okemos.

Start time is 8:00 a.m., rain or shine. In the event of severe weather the race start will be delayed and conditions re-evaluated each hour. The event will be held as soon as weather permits. Entry fees are non-refundable. No drones, scooters, hoverboards, skateboards, rollerblades, bikes or pets please. Children 3 and under are free, and strollers are allowed.

Please be aware that some of the driveways and parking lots are closed down for a period of time to ensure the runners safety. Thank you for understanding.  Please see the schedule below for parking lot closure times.

Awards: Prizes will be awarded to the top five finishers in each race division, Male and Female, and the top five "Family Finishers" which is defined as a parent/guardian crossing the finish line hand-in-hand with a child 12 and under.

Grand Prizes: Will be awarded to: Overall Male and Female; Overall Male and Female Masters (age 40-49); and Overall Male and Female Grand Masters (age 50 and over)

Results: Race results will be scored using B-tags which affix to the bib number, and/or D-tags which affix to the shoelace. Race results will be posted on this web page immediately following the race.

Event Shirts: Registration fee includes one cotton/poly event shirt per participant. Sizes guaranteed only for those who register before July 9.

Playmakers Kids Mile Series:Ele's Race is a proud participant of the Playmakers Kids Mile Series. Registration is free for kids, age 12 and under, and will start at 9:30am. See Playmakers for more details. You may register for the Kids Mile at Ele's Race Packet Pickup or on race day.

Activities and Entertainment

Kids Activities: Crafts and other activities will be available for children from 7:00am - 11:00am.

Kids Dash: A free 100-yard kids dash will take place at approximately 9:15 am. Every participant will receive an award! Youth tee shirts will be available for sale. You may register for the Kids Dash at Ele's Race Packet Pickup or on race day.

Memory Wall: On race day, participants will have the opportunity to write the name of a loved one onto the Memory Wall to celebrate the memories of those who have died.

Music: The Jackson Boomers will be playing live music on the course this year. Music at the finish line will be provided by Playmakers.
