Report: Marijuana Grow Operation Discovered At 496 & 96, Causing Friday Morning Shutdown

UPDATE: WLNS-TV reports that authorities discovered a marijuana grow operation and one person has been arrested.  This situation is what led to the closure of 496 at 96 on Friday morning.  Story developing...

NB 496 has reopened, SB remains closed, the LSJ says.  It also says the sheriff's department released a short statement just before 10am saying "We have nothing to report at this time, per the Sheriff," but confirmed that a K9 search was involved in the situation.

This situation is separate from an overnight accident involving an Amazon truck that closed the same area.  It reopened for a short time this morning before being closed again.

I-496 eastbound is closed at I-96, the Lansing State Journal reports, though it is unknown the reason. The LSJ says it appears authorities are searching nearby woods.
