A Michigan State University teacher was on yesterday's episode of Jeopardy! and won some cash money by coming in in second place.

Elizabeth Webster, an ESL teacher at MSU, had $17,200 after the Final Jeopardy! round but just couldn't catch up to first place winner Alexander Persaud, who walked away with over $35,000. I was surprised to find out that by winning second place you only got a prize of $2,000 instead of keeping your earnings. Not that two grand is anything to scoff at. Congratulations to Elizabeth for getting that final answer right. (I'm not sure I would have known it.)

"Losses in this event included 12 chests of souchong".

The answer was "The Boston Tea Party". Or should I say, WHAT IS THE BOSTON TEA PARTY, ALEX?
