East Lansing: Watch Out For Yet Another Ridiculous Scam

There is yet another scam going around and its quite ridiculous. The new scam according to WLNS, are scammers trying to be the East Lansing Police Department and and again want money. But this scam is a little different as instead of making a phone call to try to scam you, they're contacting people via Facebook Messenger, which is just ridiculous.

In the scam message, the scammers are claiming to be the East Lansing Police Department and are "demanding money for unpaid parking tickets." Please don't fall for this and also never ever ever believe that the Police Dept or any government office would contact you via Facebook.  The East Lansing Police Department posted on their Facebook to alert people not to fall for the scam, and to remind people that they would not go about trying to collect money for unpaid parking tickets this way.
