East Lansing is following suit like Lansing, Grand Rapids, and others by allowing you to smoke on your front yard and possess small amounts of marijuana.

East Lansing passed an ordinance Tuesday night that allows people over the age of 21 to use or possess less than an ounce of marijuana on private property. For those under the age of 21, it's a civil infraction that carries a fine of $25 and community service or substance abuse classes.

So yes now you can have less than an oz on you but don't think about lighting up in public cause you will get a ticket. Even though this has passed in the city of East Lansing its still illegal on the campus of Michigan State. To read more about it and how it got passed the Lansing State Journal has more.
