450,000 are waking up without power in Michigan according to reports. That includes thousands in mid-Michigan.

While generally projecting much of mid-Michigan to be without power until Wednesday, Consumers Energy now says power restoration for some areas is not expected until Thursday at 11pm. Numerous schools are closed, prompting parents to ask what the plan of action will be for the remainder of the week, if the power does remain out.

In mid-Michigan, Jackson and Shiawassee counties have the most Consumers Energy outages, with about 10,000 customers each.  Outages are also affecting intersections, with numerous traffic lights out throughout mid-Michigan. Authorities are urging drivers to remember to treat these intersections as four-way stops.

In addition to power outages, cell phone outages have been reported, making overnight communication for some nearly impossible.
