Common Ground Grows: New Alternative Acts Announced

The 2015 edition of Lansing's Common Ground Music Festival keeps getting bigger and bigger -- and on Monday morning a slew of new acts was announced.

On Sunday, July 12th, the festival will close out with performances from Empire of the Sun and The Flaming Lips.

Empire of the Sun slayed 2014 with notable performances at Coachella and the Ultra Music Festival helping the Alternative/Electronic outfit become known for their incredible live performances.  They'll headline the final day of Common Ground 2015 with help from a classic American band.

Despite forming in the 1980s, The Flaming Lips didn't really gain notoriety at home until 1999.  Now, the multiple Grammy award winning, internationally-celebrated band brings a sound and show like none other to Lansing.

Also joining Empire of the Sun and The Flaming Lips is Motion City Soundtrack, The Spill Canvas and Mike Mains and the Branches.
