Its looks like after months of people fighting against the substation being built in Scott Park on or near the Sunken Gardens, it won't help as the Lansing City Council has voted in favor of it.

The Lansing City Council on Tuesday voted 7-1 in favor of building the BWL Substation in Scott Park on the Sunken Garden grounds. Many of the Council members were said to be torn between both yes and no, but voted to give Lansing BWL the authority to build their substation on the land.

BWL officials said the project is scheduled to start in the spring and will take approximately two years to complete. People that live near or whom have opposed it before will likely fight with legal action to have it halted. More about this story here.
