This has been talked about for a while, but a Chicago developer has resubmitted plans to build a 12 story hotel and luxury apartments on a downtown East Lansing abandoned block.

The first plans that were submitted over the summer apparently are not in order with the city codes. Because of this they had to draw up new ones over the last few weeks.

The updated plans are still in place for the 12 story hotel and apartments on the corner of Abbot Road and Grand River Ave, where the abandoned bank building has been sitting for a while. There would be retail space on the first floor, as well as a ballroom and a rooftop bar. More about the apartment/hotel and some of its features from the Lansing State Journal
