If you live in or around Jackson or will be driving near it the rest of this year expect some delays as a big construction project starts.

The construction project is done by MDOT as they will be rebuilding Michigan Avenue between Brown Street and the Louis Glick Highway and the Washington Avenue split. The construction they are working on will make those two roads convert from one-way to two-way traffic.

Also be of note there will be intermittent lane closures for the next few days. Also a detour will be in place on Michigan Avenue starting May 3rd. The construction project will cost $13.1 million and is expected to be done in December. To read more about the project, MLive has it here.
