Back in 1981 Eaton Rapids resident, Marcia Polly, wrote a message threw it in a bottle and set it adrift in the Grand River seeing if it would be found by someone. It was found but not that quick by Nathan Foote a man who finally tracked down Polly to reunite her with her 30 year old message.

Marcia said she would walk along the Grand River after school and thought she would throw a message in the bottle in the hopes someone or Mr. Right would see it. The message she wrote said, "To whom ever it may concern, I am writing this litter (sic) to see how far it will get. Please write me at this address." The date in the top right-hand corner read "March 30, 1981."

Check out what else she has to say about the message from the LSJ here.
