Attention Filmmakers! Why Do You Love Lansing?

If you're from around the area and know how to handle a camera and some editing software, this looks like a really cool thing to try. The Greater Lansing Convention & Visitors Bureau and Capital City Film Festival are asking you why you love Lansing. Well, that's a damn good question. For a newcomer like me, I personally love the downtown Lansing and East Lansing areas. I love the history and the bars and most importantly, I love the PEOPLE. Now, if you can somehow put that all in film and capture it, I think you'd win first place (I'll accept a producer credit. Just kidding, but really though). The Lansing State Journal is reporting that the contest is called "The Love Letters to Lansing Video Contest" and has cash prizes totaling $4,000.

So not only can you show off your love for your city but you can also get your film chops out there and shown to a bunch of people, oh and I don't know, CASH?! Does that work for you? Works for me. So get your cameras out, probably not the one on your phone, and get out there and shoot this beautiful, awesome city. Deadlines to enter are on March 16th at noon. So you have some time. Heck, just to motivate you guys to get out there and showcase your talents, I'll even show up in your video and maybe it'll help you win some cash and show people what your made of? Good luck ya'll!
