The music industry lost one of its most powerful and influential forces on Thursday (August 16) when Aretha Franklin, the Queen of Soul and powerhouse behind classics like "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman," lost her reported battle with cancer at the age of 76.

On social media, celebrities from all corners of the entertainment industry converged to pay their r-e-s-p-e-c-t for the beloved "Respect" singer.

On Twitter, Beatles icon Paul McCartney wrote, "She will be missed but the memory of her greatness as a musician and a fine human being will live with us forever."

Fellow soul icon Patti LaBelle also tweeted her respects, calling Franklin her "sister in song."
