Are These Really the Best 10 Songs of 2014?

As I was tooling around the internet this morning, I came across a list with the title, 'Best Songs of 2014.' When you step back and think about it, there was a TON of music that came out this year, and an issue in the music industry right now are these "flash in the pan" or one hit wonder artists that release a massive single and then you never hear from them again. Just because they were hugely successful doesn't necessarily mean they are the best. While I agree with parts of this list, there are one too many "summer anthems" on here for me.  MTV says these are the best songs of 2014.

6. All About That Bass by Meghan Trainor

7. Stay With Me by Sam Smith

8. Turn Down For What by DJ Snake featuring Lil John

9. Loyal by Chris Brown featuring Lil Wayne, Tyga, French Montana and Too $hort

10. Heroes by Alesso featuring Tove Lo
