UPDATE: Amber Alert Cancelled, Mom and Daughter Found Safe in Florida

UPDATE 6pm 5/12/16: Amber Alert cancelled after missing mom and daughter were found safe in Florida.

An Amber Alert has now been issued for a 7 year old girl that disappeared with her mother early Tuesday morning under suspicious circumstances.  The pair is now believed to be with a man on the sex offender registry named Douglas Stanko.

After Amanda Hayward, 30 left with her 7 year old daughter, Sapphire Palmer, at around 3am Tuesday morning, Amanda's purse containing her credit cards and cash was found on the road not far from the residence from where they departed.

On Wednesday evening the car they were traveling in was located, unoccupied, in Ypsilanti Township.

Now police believe the pair may be with Stanko, traveling in a red 2001 Ford Escape, license plate 2HVA18.

Stanko is 64 years old and has long dark hair.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Stakno, Hayward or Palmer is asked to call 911 immediately.

MLive.com reports Hayward is also believed to be carrying a gun and may be suffering a mental breakdown.
