The National Weather Service has issued an air quality alert for seven counties in SE MI (St. Clair, Livingston, Oakland, Macomb, Washtenaw, Monroe and Wayne) for Thursday Aug 11th. There was an alert for the area yesterday as well. The alert has been issued cause of pollutants are expected to be in the unhealthy for sensitive groups range.

Lansing has also been ranked under "Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups".

The NWS advises people and businesses to avoid activities like refueling vehicles or topping off, using gas-powered lawn equipment or using lighter fluid. And if you have breathing issues or asthma to keep your outside activities shorter than usual.
