If you live in Lansing and can’t get to the polls November 8th you’re in luck as the Lansing City Clerk's office is extending hours to get people to vote this week. The city clerk’s office is extending their hours for one-stop absentee voting.

It was first done this past Saturday, and it gave people the opportunity to walk-in and get an absentee ballot. If you couldn’t make it out Saturday every clerk’s office in Michigan will be open next Saturday for absentee voting until 2:00 p.m. The City Clerk's Office has already given out 10,000 absentee ballots.

Absentee voting allows you to bring your ballot home and look it over and do some research on other candidates before casting your vote. And the best part is you don't have wait in line on election day as the city clerk offers two separate drop boxes, at both of their locations so that you can slide your ballot in and be right on your way.
