It appears the owner of the Meridian Mall is considering the unique move.

The Lansing State Journal is reporting the the idea is for a 7,000 square-foot outlot building to be located to the west of the mall's main entrance on Grand River Avenue. The building would reportedly have a drive-thru lane that could accommodate up to 6 cars.

There would also be room for outdoor seating which indicates to some the plan for a restaurant.

The report indicates a public hearing will be held by the Meridian Township planning commission on January 12th.

The plan also includes plans for other outlot expansions but no specifics have been provided.

The LSJ is also reporting that mall officials have had no comment.
