Just in time for winter, USA Today has named a Michigan Ski resort America's 2nd best. The only thing about finding this ski resort and going down the slopes is that this ski resort is located quite far away in the U.P. According to USA Today, America's 2nd best ski resort is Mount Bohemia, which located on northern most portion of the Keweenaw Peninsula. Its about an 8.5 hour drive from Lansing but apparently its worth the drive.

USA Today selected Mount Bohemia because it gets the most snow, about 270 inches last year. Plus the ski resort is also tucked and kind of hidden away since its so far away but it has great trials and has some of the longest runs, highest verticals in the Midwest.

Mount Bohemia may have come in 2nd but it beat out Squaw Valley in CA which was site of the Olympics in 1960. The #1 Ski Resort  is Winter Park Resort - Winter Park, CO. But you can check out the full list here.
